Main Street in Williamsville, NY

I chose to take a walk in Williamsville, a street that I frequently go to....Main St. I wanted to take a further look and see if there was really anything I haven't noticed before. And I was extremely shocked at all the things I never noticed. One of the first things I noticed were the very large brick walk areas in between the road and the sidewalk. I honestly have no idea why they exist though! Maybe to make a wider walk are, or maybe it is the original road or sidewalk? They definetly add more beauty to the area, and seemed to be used for street furniture and plants today!
I also noticed that almost every building was only two stories tall, minus one building and the clock tower that I could see. Williamsville was incorporated in 1832, so I am assuming that most of these building are pretty old and thats why they are only two stories tall. But maybe there is another reason that I haven't even discovered yet!
It was interesting to see all the street furniture I have never seen before including bicycle racks, garbage cans, mail boxes, benches, and all the trees and plants. Goes to show that we all move so fast and fail to realize what is actually around us.

  1. I knew that silo's could explode but i never knew they had been made of wood. I image that did not help keep explosions from happening. Interesting and perhaps a little unnerving..
